How To Avoid The Network Marketing Quick Sand Trap
Once upon a time there was a small village that farmers would bring their produce to in early fall. This was the most profitable time of the year for the farmers and also a very dangerous time of the year as well. You see, the farmers only way into town was by traveling Quick Sand Road. The road was narrow, steep, and very winding. But the real danger was it’s location which went right through the heart of quick sand swamp.
The day arrived when all the produce would be loaded up on the farmers carts overflowing with delicious produce. Since the road was so narrow and dangerous the farmers would use a hand cart so as to not risk losing a horse or mule along the way. For some farmers it was their first journey and the tension was thick and heavy like the smoke from a forest fire. Only the ole timers felt complacent due to their years of experience navigating Quick Sand Road.
The new inexperienced farmers loaded up their carts and one by one they started out on their dangerous and profitable journey. This was the time when all their hard work paid off and would allow for them to plant next years crop, invest in some equipment, and eat food during the harsh winter. The first farmer who was new started down the road and after about a mile he slipped and lost his footing and fell into the swamp. A Second new farmer soon came by an hour later and saw the young farmer sinking up to his chin. However, he was in a hurry and would not take the time to stop to help the farmer get out of the quick sand. About an hour later this farmer also lost his footing and slipped into the swamp sinking up to his chin. Next, old farmer George who was old and wise started out to town with his cart and came upon the other two farmers in need of help. He agreed to help the young farmers get out of the swamp only if they agreed to help him push his cart to and from town after the farmers market ended.
All three farmers successfully made it to market and back home selling all their produce and earning a profit.

You may have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway. Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. They spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers -- several distributors who had failed and showed the garages full of products they couldn't sell.
During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, "Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What's your secret?"
He replied, "There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, 'No.' and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire."
Like ALL leaders who have made money in this industry, Bill worked through the numbers.

MLM Navy Seal Training
There are certain factors that are necessary for network marketing success. The average networker works very hard and only makes several hundred dollars per month for all his/her efforts. This small income can only be attributed to not applying the necessary factors needed for network marketing success. Lack of Teamwork and Leveraging is an element that is severely lacking in network marketing. Income and matrixes are based off of a mathematical ratio. In reality, they are nearly impossible to fill without applying teamwork and leveraging. Duplication and Participation is another part of the formula that is also lacking.
Following a systematic approach such as My Power Of 4 "Copy Cat Secrets" and utilizing all four key factors can be similar to extensive Navy Seal Training in network marketing. Those who do not follow the system are usually the ones who wash out in the end. Success can only come from everyone working together as a team, leveraging, duplicating, and participating. Following the Leader and becoming one is the first step in the right direction.

A group of birds were perched in the barren tree limb branches outside my window shivering in minus 14 degrees weather. They frantically jumped from limb to limb scavenging for food to maintain their body heat and strength. With mounds of snow every where and blinding wind gust covering every possible food source, there was very little hope for them to find food. What amazes me the most is when a person witnesses the frailty of the situation of these beautiful works of God, he or she immediately has this yearning to come to the defense of these beautiful and delicate little creatures. As I looked out my window I knew that someone had to take responsibility for the welfare of these birds. After all, they are a joy to our ears in the early spring and summer when they sing and rejoice at the sun rising in the far off distance. They announce the suns glistening rays as they dance off the wet morning dew. Imagine a morning with no birds singing in the trees or dancing on the ground looking for a worm to feed her newly hatched babies. To me that would be a depressing moment to witness day after day. I would never want to wake up to a morning without the music of the birds. So, minus 14 degrees and a wind chill of 30 degrees below zero I set off to do what I do best and that is to help feed the birds.
With my front wheel drive Pontiac, I headed to the hardware store with a mission to purchase a bird feeder and bag of seed. The parking lot was bare and very few vehicles were out on the road. The hardware store parking lot was empty as I was their only customer. I purchased the life saving bird feeder and seed and left the store with everything in hand. As I was opening up my car door another car pulled up next to me. They rolled down their window and with a big smile they informed me that they were here for the same thing. It's nice to know that others take action and offer to help.
Network marketing requires an attitude of teamwork and leveraging. True Global Compassion is centered around these key elements. Scientist have recently discovered a flock of dead geese starved and frozen!
There was flock of geese getting ready to fly South for the winter. While they were preparing for their hard journey South they all started arguing among themselves which would be the best route to travel. All the Geese refused to listen to each other and argued about the best route, the right altitude, the right wind current, and the best time of day to leave. So when the day came for them to leave they still had not come to agreement on their flight path. So they took off in flight and as they switched off on the lead position the new goose taking over would adjust it's flight pattern to the one it wanted to fly. The Geese finally landed after 2 months of flying and found themselves in the same field they took off from. Unfortunately, they were too tired and weak to make a second attempt South and the snow set in. The geese all froze and starved to death. An autopsy report cited the cause of death was due to “Lack of teamwork and leveraging” and “Everyone was talking and nobody was listening”.

In network marketing there is an abundance of opportunities competing with a limited amount of opportunist. Everyone thinks they have the best product and compensation plan and nobody wants to admit that their opportunity is inferior. Often they overlook the important aspects of the marketing plan that is key to their success. In the past, all opportunities were structured around the same old marketing strategy which only seemed to work for the 3-5% success group. The high failure rate resulted in the fact that not everyone is good at recruiting other team members. Pricing or the cost to join a program can often lead to immediate failure too, if the cost per month is to high.

A giant Willow Tree towered over all the other willows in her family. She was the mother of all willows surrounding her. Every day she would stand watch over her sapling siblings and provide them wisdom on how to grow and mature into an adult willow tree. For she was the wisest of them all with a massive and complex root system to hold her mighty place among the woods.
One day as she was providing wisdom to her sapling siblings, a young and immature sapling yelled out to his mother requesting faster growth. The sapling said, “Mother I want to become tall and mighty like you and I want it now.” However, the mother willow tree being the wisest refused and said that first you need to learn my wisdom. However, the young sapling sibling became angry and intolerant towards his mother after he heard that. He refused to be patient and would no longer listen to his mother. Therefore, he started pushing aside his other brothers and sisters, and started stealing their sunlight so that he could grow faster and be bigger than the rest.
Every day he would boast and brag about how tall he was growing and he showed off his limbs to his family, flexing them in the gentle breeze. The sun would dance off his leaves and cast a radiant dazzling brilliance upon him. While others in his family took notice and started to admire their brother, the mother grew sadder each day. Then the willow tree finally reached the height of his mother and said, “Look at me mother, I’m as tall as you and still growing faster than you!” “By next year, I will be the biggest in the forest and everyone will look up to me.” The mother willow tree sadly looked aside and lowered her branches so that the tips of her branches touched the ground.
That night a huge storm came by with gale force winds blowing across the woods. The mother willow tree as usual would stretch out her branches and cover her sapling siblings to protect them. She could hear her son in fear crying out for his mother as he swayed from side to side. He started rocking back and forth to the point where his roots started leaving the ground below him. However, because he was so selfish he refused his mothers wisdom and did not get his roots set deep before he grew in height. When morning came, her son laid on the ground with his mother standing next to him weeping. Hence, the name “Weeping Willow Tree” came to be known.

Network marketing requires a lot of patience to build your business. Too many people are in a big push to market their opportunity fast and furious without learning the proper steps to building relationships with their potential business partners. When they don't see immediate progress they often jump into another opportunity and repeat the same mistakes over and over.

Mark and Bill, were best friends had just finished medical schooling and became MD’s. Finally, after all those years of hard work and tremendous schooling debt, they both were ready to begin their life long dreams of family practice. Being the best of friends for so long they decided to locate in the same city where the population was adequate and so that their families could stay in touch with each other. Bill set up his practice on one side of town and Mark the other so that they would not compete directly against each other for patients. Both had about the same amount of debt and were looking forward to begin work to pay off their outstanding loans that accumulated from medical school. Bill decided that his marketing strategy for paying off his debt quicker was to only allocate 10 minutes of patient care with very little patient communication so that he could see more patients in a day. He was very thorough accessing his patients but would stay with the 10-minute rule and move on to the next patient. His motto was “Time is money and erases debt” and he preached this constantly to his staff employees.
Mark set up his practice and decided to allocate, as much time needed for each patient and to answer any questions or concerns. Often, Mark asked questions that were not medical related about the person, their family, employment, vacations, etc. He was also very thorough and assessed his patients with great accuracy. Business was slow at first but he was able to pay his monthly bills and save a little. After about a year, Bill, noticed his monthly income was dropping steadily and could not figure out why some patients were not returning to his office. Mark, on the other had had noticed business picking up steadily and that many of the new patients were coming from Bills side of town. Within 2 years Bill had to close his business and file for bankruptcy because his bills could not be met. Mark, on the other hand had brought on a few partners to help see all the new patients that were flooding his practice. He ended up paying off his debts in record time and was now enjoying prosperity.

Most people fail in network marketing because they fail to communicate the right way. Developing a relationship with your potential prospect is critical to your success. A great way to do this is to FORM your person while speaking to them. F stands for family, O stands for occupation, R stand for recreation, and M stands for the message.
